Maria Eugenia Quevedo, LPC, LMFT, RPT

My name is Maria Eugenia Quevedo, but generally go by Mayu with my clients and family.  I was born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and was raised in Cd. Juarez,

Chihuahua, the border city to El Paso, TX.  I feel honored to have had the opportunity to

be exposed to a bicultural environment growing up, and have great appreciation for

what different cultures have to offer.

I developed my love for the helping profession from a very young age and was blessed

with amazing mentors that inspired me to go into the field of Counseling

Psychology.  I began my journey in Psychology at the University of Texas in El Paso and

pursued my graduate training in Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy

and Play Therapy at Texas State University.

I have served on State and Local Boards in my field and have presented on a variety of topics at conferences including the Association for Play therapy, American Counseling Association, and the American Psychological Association. I am currently a professional member of the American Counseling Association, American Society for Reproductive Medicine and their Mental Health Professional Group, and the American Play Therapy Association. I am certified in Sports Hypnosis and Peak Performance through the Hypnosis Motivation Institute and the American Hypnosis Association.  I have also received training in Yoga through the Living Yoga Program at Barsana Dham in Austin, Texas and from Sydney Solis on her amazing StoryTime Yoga for Kids in Boulder, Colorado.  I have applied the wonderful elements of Yoga, Hypnosis, and Relaxation through Mind Body Groups and a program I developed, YogaJourneys for kids,  In which children learn life skills they can use for life.

I have had the privilege of working with hundreds of families in many walks of life in private

practice and through my yoga practice.  I hold a special passion for working with individuals facing the challenges of infertility from, both, a personal and professional perspective.  I  feel very blessed to have the opportunity, with every new client and group, to continue in the wonderful Journey of Counseling and Development.
